This wave 3 of The Walking Dead figures are a noticeable progression from Wave 1. Merle Dixon actually looks like the actor Michael Rooker who plays Merle Dixon. The figure has great articulation, some great detailed accessories as well. Two different guns, a knife and his signature artificial hand. I also like that McFarlane is continuing the theme of changing the picture on the card. Wave 1 was just dingy and bloody looking, Wave 2 was Herschel's farm and Wave 3 is the prison. I can't wait to see what is in store for Wave 4. At Toy fair 2013 I saw a preview for the next Wave and there is a figure of Carl that should be part of Wave 4. This series keeps getting better and better. Now that Daryl and Merle are reunited in the show, you can reunite them in action figure form as well.*NOTE* There has been an overwhelming amount of people on here complaining about Amazon's packaging of this figure. As an avid action figure collector, I have had this problem a few times now with ordering action figures from Amazon. I figured out awhile back that the best way to circumnavigate this problem (granted I realize we shouldn't have to do anyhting to get around this problem, it shouldn't be a problem in the first place) is to order more than one figure at a time, or order a Blu-Ray or book at the same time, then they typically all get packaged in a bigger, more sturdy box. I find anything I order just one of, i.e book, movie, action figure, shirt, tends to get terrible treatment in regards to its packaging and handling. And of course anything that gets shipped USPS looks like someone danced on top of it. Hope this problem gets resolved soon and everyone starts getting quality products delivered.
