It looks bigger in the pictures. It felt like it took me forever to build for my daughter. Overall colors look good and although pieces where a little hard to put together...It came out as expectedMy grandson loves this set and thanks me every time we work on it together. He is six and can put very complex Lego sets together without any assistance. This is an awesome set with many different options and I'm not sorry that I bought it for him. However, it takes a great deal of time to put each little model together. Some of the structures are not "sound" from the beginning, and fall apart endlessly when you try and add new pieces. I realize when I buy an offbrand that there are consequences, and I'll live with that. Instructions are nowhere near as easy to follow as the name brand. Some of the blocks are very very difficult to snap together, and some of them fall apart way too easily. Great engineering design, love the idea, just harder to work with than I expected, and he certainly isn't able to do it on his own.The good: The bricks are excellent quality, nearly indistinguishable from Lego. I was wary about introducing a different brand and mixing them into our collection of bricks, so I was relieved to find these are compatible and high quality. The bad: The product is described as 836 pieces. If you compare that with Lego sets, that makes it seem like a great value. However, nearly all of the pieces are tiny 1 x 1 blocks or "detail" pieces. There are only perhaps a dozen larger blocks in the entire set. When the box arrived and I saw how small it was, I knew right away that something was off about my expectations. Accordingly, it's not possible to build all of the models at once. My son wanted to build the robot first, of course, and we found that it uses all of the pieces. The larger fire truck probably would also use most or all of the pieces. It may be possible to build several of the smaller models simultaneously but I'm not sure. We got about 90% through with the robot and put the kit away because of frustration. The other major negative: the designs are unnecessarily complicated and not very logical, in some places. This leads to frustration with building (and I've been playing with Lego for 30+ years, so it's not user error) and the final product isn't nearly as stable as it should be. The robot, for example, has a couple of weak spots that make it break apart too easily, and a few minor adjustments (or larger pieces, instead of all these tiny ones stuck together) would have made it much more durable. The instructions are also slightly too small, so I had to constantly strain my eyes to see. I've included photos to show you the relative size of the instructions, as well as an example of a building step that doesn't really make sense--it covers up a rotating block instead of making use of it. The design is filled with steps like this.Altogether, this kit is fine if you'd like to add some additional high quality blocks--especially tiny detail blocks--to your collection. But please don't buy this as a kit to introduce someone to Lego. It will likely ruin the experience for them. This was the first time we ordered the VATOS brand building blocks. We were skeptical because of the price and thinking they're a knock-off of LEGO brand, which we are huge fans of. My daughter has wanted the princess LEGO sets, but they are all so expensive for the small amount of lego you get, so we haven't wanted to buy them for her. When we saw this set, we thought it was worth a shot since the price is great for how many pieces there are and how much you can do with the set. The blocks are very much like LEGO and if I didn't know they were VATOS, I could easily mistake them for LEGO. They can be a little bit hard to push together at times but they do go together - might be stiffness in the design. The instructions are great. We are definitely willing to purchase this brand again and were very pleasantly surprised at the quality. The looks is what gets you. The building is not easy by any means. I had a few choice words when building. When 1 goes more falls down. Not worth the money. This did Not come with the clock — been trying to put together— 5 year old ask me to put this all together No clock the feature point of this castle Not included Just opened it and No clockBig dissatisfaction and very disappointedMy son loves legos and robots so he was very excited. Product does not stay together as well as LEGOS do. The biggest frustration for him was the kit was missing some key pieces that are not ones easily replaced with pieces from his stash. My 7 year old loves details and putting things together, this kept her busy for hours. She was able to do it with little help from us. Each model and all the pieces comes individually wrapped, which is a nice feature. Each model shows you two options to put it together. The instruction book is detailed. Sometimes the pieces wouldn't go together easily, but she got it eventually. She had fun and we love the value in creativity. Would definitely make a nice gift for a child that loves to create and build.Firstly the review form asks me to rate the thickness and sheerness of this product! I don’t know what Item this review will be posted on as I can’t see how thickness & sheerness apply to a Lego castle! Now to the castle, this is NOT Lego, but an imitation of, saying that the prices are very similar to Lego, that is where the similarities end. The delivery was made without an outer box, just a sticker stuck on the product box, so if this is a present prepare for a spoiler! Luckily my daughter wasn’t nearby when this got delivered!I have bought a lot of Lego over the years & although you do get a lot of pieces in this set they are all very tiny, the instructions unlike a Lego set are also tiny, & really complicated, I built a £50 genuine Lego jumbo jet & terminal building in about half the time that this took! I would say it would take an under 10yr old a good 3 or 4 sittings to do this & they would need a lot of help to make sense of the instructions! When the castle is finally built prepare yourself for constant maintenance as it is very fragile, all in all it’s pretty badly designed, but there is some good value just in the number of pieces.Personally I’d pay the extra & get real Lego next time!Unless you have excellent eyesight, unlimited patience and are very dexterous I would seriously avoid this product. The instructions are very unclear and it takes quite a while to see how to even start. Then the pictures are so tiny and poorly drawn it is very easy to make a mistake and have to correct. My granddaughter (7yrs) and I spent ages checking each stage before moving on and my wife had the same problem too. The bricks are very small and not that easy to push together so the little one was good at finding the right parts but had to struggle with the assembly. The completed small models which as far as we can deduce all make up to the castle are actually really cute but there is not a lot of joy in building them as they are finicky in the extreme. Leggo this is not! This lego style construction vehicle was a fantastic, yet challenging build for my 9yr old - it was a daddy and son team work effort which was lovely. Some of the pieces looked a little different to the pictures in the instructions which made things a little trickier but it was easy to figure out by the shape. The end result looks brilliant and it takes a good chunk of time off-screen to build it which is always a good thing. Great quality lego substitute!!I bought this in haste thinking it was Lego. Even my 7 y/o who would usually manage Lego sets for 12+ found this set tricky. Very fiddly to build and bits fall off the castle easily making it frustrating for my 5y/o to play with. Of course we only realised once we were half way through building and everything was out of the wrapping - so we were unable to return. A shame as it was purchased with pocket money saved over the whole summer.Absolutely impossible to build into a castle. It is incredibly fiddly and as soon as you put the bits together, the bits you've already built, just fall apart and you end up spending all your time, going over the same bit, again and again. My daughter was very excited to get this for Christmas and I have spent the last 4 days trying to build it into the dam castle! I've packed it away and had enough now. If I had known how fiddly it was going to be, I really wouldn't have bothered. One very upset child that it can't be built here!If all the bags hadn't been opened, I'd be wanting my money back!!!
