I have to say, this is probably the toughest dog toy I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot! So tough, in fact, it doesn't even feel like a dog toy. It feels like something you'd whack someone over the head with in self defense! It's very heavy. It's actually more like a child's toy than a dog toy.If you have a dog who tends to destroy every toy you give them because of their heavy chewing, this is the dog toy you for you! Assuming, that is, that your dog embraces it as a toy. Like I mentioned, it doesn't "feel" like a dog toy. It feels like a giant hunk of nylon. This may be good for an aggressive chewer who is not discriminating in what they like to tear up. If you, however, have a dog who knows their place and knows when a toy is a toy and is well disciplined to the point where they don't chew items that are not theirs, they may actually have a hard time warming up to this toy.My golden retrievers prefer soft toys. They will play with a child's stuffed animal and never do any damage to it, as they are a "soft mouth" breed. While my golden retrievers weren't wild about it as a chew toy likely because of its weight and extremely durable exterior, our neighbor's dog (some kind of mixed breed Doodle) loved it.This is the perfect toy for large breeds that may be indiscriminate aggressive chewers. If that's your dog, get them this toy. You will not be disappointed. If, on the other hand, your dog is like mine and prefers something that feels more like a toy and less like a child's teething toy, then you may want to consider something else. That said, this is a very high quality product. The most durable toy I've ever encountered.
