Although meant to be a balancing puzzle, my granddaughter just plays dinosaurs with it. Maybe when she's older, she'll like the balancing activity!I gave it to a six year old and he loved it and we all had fun with itAfter I simply could not balance the pieces as shown in the directions for this toy, I had to chuckle at the ages listed as appropriate for it. I decided I'd just give the dinosaurs to the 3-year-old great-grandson without the balance beam. They are colorful solid wooden pieces and he would enjoy them. However, I first gave the toy to the little one's uncle to try to balance the dinosaurs, and he balanced the pieces perfectly! He is 22. I'd best let him help his nephew when he gets big enough to try it. In the meantime the little guy likes playing with the dinosaurs.I really like the concept of these. I thought it'd be great to get my 3-year-old something that she would have her focus and concentrate. Good for her hand eye coordination. At first we really struggled with it though. Neither her nor I could stack the dinosaurs very well. We tried it without the balancing half circle that comes with it though, and things got a lot better. At first I wouldn't have recommended it, because it's so difficult to stack that it almost seems pointless. Now though, we've had several playtimes that involves stacking dinosaurs several high. We just use a solid flat surface to stack them on. And my daughter does focus and concentrate as she slowly stacks one on the other. Now I would recommend itMy daughter absolutely loves them. We have fun together with the game often.Probably well made product but too small for my grandchildHad to return.Good product, a little difficult for my 1st graders since they have not fully developed steady hands yet and fine motor skills but they thought it was interesting when I first introduced it to them and they tried their best! They loved the dinosaur theme! My children (ages 3 and 5) both enjoy this balancing dinosaur toy. They like to challenge each other to see who can do it faster or who can stack it higher. My son (3 year old) also likes to play with the dinosaurs and mix them with Legos and other animals to create a dinosaur world! We also use the dinosaurs to practice naming different colors. They also like to trace each dinosaur and draw an environment around them and make up a story. This purchase turned out to be more interesting and have far more uses than I expected!
