I was so thrilled to find I can still get this toy! I have had a couple of them for years and they are one of the few toys my older guys will still play with. I recently got a new, young cat and it is his favorite toy as well, but after a couple of months of vigorous daily play, he has partially destroyed the mouse on one of the two I have. I was in a panic because I couldn't find them anywhere and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get a replacement. But yay! Here they are! These are better than other wand toys because they have a section of semi-rigid plastic wire between the rigid handle and the flexible leather cord. That gives them a lot more bounce, and makes it easier to burrow them under blankets or furniture, which makes it so much more interesting. The leather cord doesn't get tangled the way string does, and they hold up well. Even though they are a bit pricey, they last a long time, so they are worth it. My only complaint is that the mice are not replaceable, and they are the the least durable part.I've had a number of these over the years, this is far and the best had yet.Already gotten my money's worth out of it, and the cats freaking love it. Much more than the string-ribbon type which is the last we'd been using that they like but wasn't same level of fun past ones we'd had with toy end were. Though we've also had bad luck with some toy end types, but this one step up over best previous.Wire end adds a almost fishing rod like characteristic and it works really well for flipping the toy around. genius.Next, the toy end is ideal. Gets stuck in their claws a whole lot less. Past toys I really had some issue getting them disengaged on either because they can't unhook their claws, or they just want to gnaw on it. This one they just want to chase, LOVE to chase, and they let go right away to chase more. That's new and couldn't be happier. Not super important but something to note is check the tassels when get, not all were fully separated when they were cut so were more like loops, breaking them apart further decreased how much cat claws hook. But yea, the size of the fluff part combined with leather tassels is in perfect balance.Cats want me to play with it all day, camping the play area, trying give me hint. Also they kind of hide when they sleep, but wherever they are, takes no time for them to show up if I start flipping it around. Cat hearing is crazy.I would discount the complaints about durability, I don't think that is representative they just get bumped more. Sure in unlucky bad angle hit from a cat could break it, especially way cats go zipping around after it, but I've had it knocked from hand a couple times and no problems, so certainly up to normal standards. Only had it a few days but already put more miles on it than I would have liked due to cat pressure. pushy cats.UPDATE with helpful hint:It's stood up to the test of time well. Cats still love it but I can tell they starting get little burnt out a little on it so I will have to find a different type to give them variety. I want to add some helpful hints to those have with breaking. DON'T HOLD IT TOO TIGHT, if cat hits it hard at off angle it should fly from you hand. I've used these things for years and just instinctively know the right grip tension. Which is pretty loose really. And when they catch it you can tease them with a little tension and wiggling around, but it shouldn't be a tug of war. If you know how to use them they will last a long time. The play end of this is more durable than most I've seen, and hasn't even begun to show wear on mine yet.Mud is OBSESSED with this toy! No other toy will do. He drags it around and wakes me up trying to put it in my hand every morning. Its almost a year old and going strong! I dread the day it wears out, he will be mortifiedI was disappointed that the toy broke the first time I used it. They stick and “string” portion came apart. The company refused to give me a refund because is was “used.” They did give me a discount. However, I duct taped the two pieces together and it has held up nicely. I kept the toy because my cat cannot have anything with cloth, ribbon, or strings. She will eat it. Finding cat toys with leather only is difficult. Despite the poor construction of the toy, with my hack, it has been great. The rest of the wand has held up really well. It’s my cat’s favorite toy. There are many design flaws that need improvement. The stick itself it too thin. I have small hands and it just doesn’t feel comfortable in my hand. And, of course, the part that joins the wand with the “string” (I don’t really know what to call that part - it’s like the fishing line part of the toy) needs to be reinforced so that it doesn’t come apart. If you don’t mind taping your wand together for longevity than I say give it a go. But for something that is going to break and then no refund - Ugh.Bought this to replace the one our kitty has had for a year (although that one had a blue handle). The new one broke immediately after I started moving it around - the dangly bit disengaged from the pole. Must be a faulty product because the previous one we bought was perfect and lasted a long time despite daily use. This one hadn't even been touched by our cat before it fell apart. This is brilliant. All 3 cats want to play at the same time and two of them normally avoid each other. They love the bounce of it. I will never buy an ordinary cat wand again. Please carry on selling. I have ordered two more not that i expect them to wear out soon, they are very robust, but because the exercise and fun the cats have is great.Best dangly cat toy I ever bought. Cat loves it when he wouldn't play with anything before-perhaps because it's made of leather. Is amazing quality and survives the most violent attacks from my moggy.2021- two more cats and still going strong!!!Lovely product!!! Well made! My cats love it!!! Seems durable but I am ordering more just to be on the safe side!!!Excellent. My cat normally ignores all toys with disdain and was even scared of the one i had similar with feathers on the end. She loves this. It is well made and has taken numerous beatings and is still going strong. I think it is the leather bits on the end that get her attention.
