Sawaruita/Cayi 1115 "Princess Diary: Konya Sky Castle" (~215 pieces, ages 6+). There might be shenanigans going on here: the Sawaruita box that the Princess Castle label is affixed to appears unrelated to this product, and, likewise, the Cayi instructions don't mention Sawaruita! This is a somewhat challenging build, moreso for structural reasons than complexity (the walls, base & castle like to come apart, during assembly, due to poor overlapping block support). There are 16 decals to apply, many of which go across multiple bricks. These LEGO-compatible pieces are mostly good, but, that ornamental gold disc's connection hole is way too tight and pops off the stud (the flagpole still keeps it secured though). There were no missing/damaged blocks and the instruction sheet is easy to follow. The base of the structure has a secret, pull-out drawer and the entire castle-inside-glass top portion rotates. You also get 2 optional color-shifting, light-up 2x2 blocks (batteries included) that you can attach to the floor of said drawer for a rainbow light show!A LEGO Friends-like mini doll, Julie, is part of the set. The art depicts her flying, with angel wings, but, sadly, the toy doesn't come with those. You get an orange brick separator tool too. This is a lovely model. There are some structural frustrations & too many stickers, but, once it's fully assembled, it's a nice display piece & the lights are fun. It only cost me $11 too! I give it 3.8/5.0 domed palaces. My now 7 yr old got this for birthday, and was extremely excited to build it. She was proud to have built the majority of it on her own without need for too much assistance. The set is cute and the instructions are clear enough for her to figure it out on her own.I only got called in to help her put the character figure's arms on. It took me some time as it was extremely difficult to press in. I ended up breaking a part of the limb insert by accident during the many attempts (which actually made it easily attachable, yet risking easy detachment and lost of her limb when handling). I had to use plyers, along with soft cloth wrap to cushion the squeeze to click the other arm into the socket, which took 1/4 of the time than the first side. Of course then the comparison of the arms movements were different with the second being much more secured. Then stupid me, on a whim, try to pull the secured arm out which immediately broke the insertion peg, unintentionally evening the arms out semitrically. The next request for assistance was getting the drawer section to fit into the rails to close, took me a bit, but then able to figure that all the attachments of pieces just needed to be more tightly fitted between layers as it was built, so pressed down andsqueezed all of the builds section, especially the two red circular peices...viola, it works.Super cool that it functions and turns, it reminds me of a snow globe! Fun to put together and only slightly frustrating.. lol. The light bricks are cool but unnecessary and the doll thing might as well just not come with it bc she went straight in the trash? but then again I’m an adult and just like assembling these instead of playing with them.. most of the time? This item has so many small pieces and does not explain how the lights work at all, they are not in the instructions so I had no idea where to put them or turn them on until I looked at the reviews and figured it out.The pieces are very tiny☹️The kids happy played with this a majority of the day today. Reminds us of Disney :-) Kids were able to put this together with a short amount of time and they were happy doing it. It actually came out very cute and has a lot of cute little features to it. Very well-made the brick stuck together easily and they were easily able to do it within an hour. They having fun playing with it.This is a decent kit, but not the greatest. I like the way the front panel slides out to make a little drawer. Assembly was a bit frustrating because it wasn’t stable which led to a lot of rebuilding. I think the steps could have been a different order to make assembly a bit easier. It comes with two light up bricks, but nowhere in the directions that I saw it does it say where to put these in the build. So, they are very odd. The character included also does not fit with the set.I got this for my five year old who loves to build. The instructions are easy enough to follow that she doesn’t require assistance when putting this together. She’s been finding it challenging, but all in all, a great project.
