We got this toy for our 8 month old son. We stack it and he loves knocking it down. The balls are weighted and wobble around. The balls are smooth plastic. We haven't had any issues with stickiness that some other reviews mentioned.My 9 month old granddaughter loves this stacking toy. I stack them and she knocks them over but it takes her a bit because they are so steady and durable. Great toy that will last for a long time!I work in a preschool and the little ones love this. I discovered that I can take a shake toy/instrument and use it like a drum stick and it makes some cool sounds on the different size stackers. It’s pretty, fun and sounds good. I love this and have one to my grandson(s).They fall over a lot so even when not in use they can be a pain to clean up. My grandchildren do not seem enamored of them if this changes I will update this review.I thought this was going to be like the greatest toy ever but my kids don't really play with it. It just looks pretty on the toy shelf hopefully they will play with it later.I REALLY like this toy & my daughter seems to enjoy it a lot as well. I think it would serve as an EXCELLENT shower gift or baby gift for infants from about 6 months old up to probably 18 months. I think you would really impress people with this gift as it is a really unique & well designed upgrade to a traditional toy concept that everyone is familiar with & probably had themselves when they were a child.My mother originally bought my daughter the traditional toy this concept is based upon, the one with the yellow plastic center post with a white plastic base & then several plastic "doughnut" rings in various colors that baby is supposed to stack in order but I found that she often just removed the rings & then kinda banged around with the post like it was a hammer & nothing enticed her to complete the tower of rings again.The slight magnification effect within the stacking balls creates awe & wonder & curiosity in my child & each one of the balls has a different weight to it which again makes it really engaging. She is almost 10 months old & while she doesn't have the fine motor skills it takes to place the plastic rings around the post of the old toy she can easily pick up each ball in this set & drop it/place it on top of the stack with the help of the magnets which really gives her a sense of accomplishment I think.I really really appreciate the thoughtful design of this baby toy.My granddaughter loves playing with (i.e., chewing on) this.
