My 16-month-old daughter is at the stage where she points to everything she sees and wants you to identify it, so this toy was perfect for her. There are 15 categories of cards: jobs, numbers, persons, animals, vegetables, nature, colors, vehicles, fruits, letters, bodies, food, locations, costumes, and daily necessities. Overall the words are pronounced very clearly and in an American accent (although they do call a cookie a biscuit). My daughter's favorite cards are definitely the animals since most of them also make the noise that the named animal makes. (Most of the vehicle cards also make noise.) She isn't able to insert the cards herself, but I think older kids (pre-k or probably even 2+) would be able to do it on their own. My only complaint is that I wish there were +/- volume buttons--there is only one button for volume so you have to loop around to get the volume you want. Overall though I'm really happy with this!
