I use fidget toys in my office for youth and adults to keep their hands occupied while we meet but it requires fidgets that are quiet, or quiet enough they fade into the background. This one is actually completely silent while using. It's silicone so naturally anti-skid and doesn't move around much but if you plan to use with younger kids, note that if they put a hand on top and push it across a surface you do get a fingernails-on-a-chalkboard squeak.It does come with a travel bag but it works best on a flat surface or for someone older who won't bend it much while playing, since that is how you get the "strings" out of the board to reuse. I can see that being frustrating for some, but I actually enjoy that it is super easy to reset and reuse. The strings are a good thickness, I thought for sure they would be thin and easily torn but they are not. The board and string are also nice to hold and touch for sensory input, I work with a couple people who just enjoy twisting the string or rubbing the board instead of making a design.
