These are sheerer than most compression stockings and therefore do not look much different than ordinary hose once on the wearer. The compression works great and has solved my swelling problem. These wash nicely in the washing machine. I hang to dry. After many washes the compression is as good as when new. and there are no snags or tears. I wear a size 10 woman's shoe and the foot length is just barely adequate. If you have a longer foot they may be too short. I am 5'8" and length comes nicely up to knee level. Very pleased with this purchase.
