My grandson absolutely loves it!The handle is hard for a two year old to use. Even I have a little difficulty. But it brings back fond memories from days gone by.He really enjoys looking at the animals. Just buying new slides, wow they are very expensive.I bought this along with a spaceship toy for my nephews 5th birthday and he loved this more than the spaceship!! Kids still love these view finders just like we did years ago!She loved the space photos and the set of family photos we had made for her. This is an easy toy to use.My grandson LOVED it! I can't walt to buy more reels!I loved looking through these viewers when I was young and I see that hasn't changed. My grandchildren now love looking through the viewer - almost as much as they loved popping the bubble wrap! The viewer is great fun, informative and it's something the whole family can share at minimum cost. Enjoy!I bought the blue space viewer as it has the focus adjustment control. My red gaf retro viewmaster and model C needs to be used with a pair of distance glasses so I hoped I had found the solution. The focus control didn't have enough adjustment and I actually needed +1.5 reading glasses. The image is smaller than the retro view-masters, and the texture of the plastic defuser on the front can be noticed at times. As Amazon only sent the new viewer in a padded envelope one real was completely useless. The other reals show what appears to be low cost space craft cut-outs. 3D effect but of cheap card space craft. With reading glasses which are not ideal it was an OK viewer. Maybe better with younger eyes. I bought a model D viewmaster which gives me the best image.*Update* I took the Blue focusing unit apart and turned the lenses the other way around, so the flat side was then closest to my eyes (slightly curved side closest to the slide). I wasn't sure it made any difference until I bought another viewer and compared. Before only the centre of the image was sharp, now the outer is also fairly good. I also adjusted the focus in a little and used the viewer with +3.0 comfortable reading glasses and the image is now fairly good and fairly larger. The lenses are larger than most of the other viewers which can help a bit with narrow set eyes. +1.5 reading glasses work but the image when adjusted is smaller than using the +3.0.My Sawyers Model D still gives the best image for me when compared.Was a birthday gift for my granddaughter.. she loved them all.
