I love, love, love Judith Krantz so much that I wish she were my auntie so I could hear her tell stories all the time! I'm only at Chapter 15 in this, her autobiography, but already it's more than worth the thrifty Kindle price. Go on, buy it! It's funny and a fast read. As in her fiction, Krantz really dishes the dirt and doesn't mince words. Yes, there is a lot of "sex and shopping" in this book, and also quite a bit of celebrity name-dropping, because Krantz is one of the lucky few who has actually lived in the world of glamour, and she knows whereof she speaks. But her utter lack of snobbishness, her breathlessly gossipy style, her ability to make you laugh, and her shrewd insights keep you reading and wanting more details. If you do read Krantz's fiction, you will see that Krantz really has put a great deal of herself and her experiences into her mega-bestselling novels. She includes quotes from her novels to help along the uninitiated, as well as portraits of herself and family photographs. Along the way, there are fabulous words of wisdom on writing, on business, on the Jewish experience, and, of course, on love. I am really enjoying reading about Krantz's life, and sincerely wish this dear lady would write more books.
