I compared this side by side to the SHure brand's version. They're similar enough, but this one sounded better. The test was simple- plug dynamic mic into instrument amp and see if we can hear a difference between the two adapters. Yes we can. The PE one sounded fuller, the Shure one sounded thinner. They both work great and you might like one vs the other. I prefer this one in sound.Another reason I prefer this is that the ends come straight out, so if for some reason it needs to come apart, you can open it without twisting an end. This likely means it will be more long lasting since the wires inside aren't balled up from screwing the thing together when it was first made.I'll add that I trust PE for many things, and have used several Dayton products quite happily over the years.
